JWF Van Jaarsveldt Business Rescue
Our Mission:
To rescue businesses who are financially distressed; prevent liquidation with a moratorium against litigation and safeguard employees in employment.
Business Rescue aims to do exactly what the name says, to rescue or rehabilitate a company which is under financial distress.
There are two methods of commencing business rescue proceedings. Either a company resolution to begin business rescue proceedings in terms of Sec 129 of the Act or a court order placing the company in business rescue in term of Sec 131 of the Act. Business rescue proceedings usually last for a period of three months.
A "Business Rescue Plan” must be drawn up by a provisionally licensed business rescue practitioner that possesses the necessary industry knowledge, who has the capacity to take on the specific business rescue and where there are no conflicts of interest with the business.
This "Business Rescue Plan” will then be put to a vote by the creditors and once successfully voted in, the business rescue practitioner must implement and oversee the business rescue plan in an attempt to save the company.

Jan Van Jaarveldt has a long history in the legal field. He has a BJuris et Artium; LLB degree, but has not practised as an advocate for many years.
His life path has taken him on a journey that has equipped and educated him in many fields; from law to insurance to debt counselling to business rescue.
An avid researcher and keen student of life, he continues to equip himself so that he may assist others.
His personal mission has for many years been "Speak for those who cannot speak; seek justice for all those on the verge of destruction. Speak up, judge righteously, and defend the rights of the afflicted and oppressed." Proverbs 31: 8-9.
The driving force in his life is his personal relationship with his Creator and King. A believer since he can remember, his hearts desire has been to seek out the Truth. This has led him on a search that has taken him through many church denominations, many hours of listening, watching, searching and researching.
Currently a Senior Professor at Therapon University, he continues to encourage others to seek the true Gospel of the Kingdom.
